COVID

Travelers to Costa Rica are not required to show proof of vaccination status or proof of a medical insurance policy to cover COVID-19 related illness.

CDC will no longer order air passengers to show a negative COVID-19 test result, or show documentation of recovery from COVID-19, prior to boarding a flight to the United States.

Passports are required to enter Costa Rica. It can take up to 11 weeks to receive your passport from the State Department.

GLOBAL ENTRY

We highly recommend getting Global Entry for your return to the United States. It fast tracks your entry through Customs and gives you TSA Pre-Check.

Note: A return flight ticket is needed when entering Costa Rica. The immigration officer will ask for it upon your arrival. It is advisable to make a photocopy or take a picture of your passport with the entry stamp to carry at all times during your stay.

Visitors to Costa Rica must have a valid passport as well as proof of their intent to exit the country before their visa or entry stamp expires, usually within 90 days.

All non-resident travelers must possess a return ticket or a ticket as proof of when they intend to exit the country, commonly referred to as an outbound exit or onward ticket. An onward ticket is required of non-residents who are:

  • Traveling on a one-way ticket

  • Entering the country with a return ticket dated more than 90 days after arrival

  • Flying into Costa Rica and flying out of another country

By law, an onward ticket includes any of the following on approved, commercial transport:

  • A pre-purchased bus ticket out of the country

  • A pre-purchased flight out of the country

  • Proof of passage on a cruise ship

OBLIGATION TO DECLARE WHEN ENTERING/LEAVING COSTA RICA:

When entering or leaving a port in Costa Rica, if you carry an amount equal to or greater than the US $ 10,000 or its equivalent in other currencies, cash or securities, you must request and complete the form provided for this purpose at the migration post and present it to the Customs Authority for verification; The declaration must be made before finalizing the corresponding immigration procedures.

TRANSPORTATION TO CASA 9 VILLA (HOST HOTEL)

Transportation is provided from the airport to Casa 9 and back to the airport for those guests staying at the host hotel. Brandon and Craig will coordinate your pickup and drop off with the staff at Casa 9. This transportation is based on you flying in on January 12th, 2023 and departing January 17, 2023.

  • Flight Arrival – January 12, 2023 no later than 2:30pm local time in Costa Rica.

  • Flight Departure – January 17, 2023 recommending 2pm or later local time in Costa Rica.

For those guests staying offsite from Casa 9 Villa, you will be responsible for arranging your own transportation to/from the airport and the property you are staying at.
