Wedding Trip FAQs

What do I wear to the wedding?

We've learned that there are dozens of confusing terms for tropical wedding attire, most of which seem to have definitions that vary from source to source. Resort casual elegant and beach semi-formal/cocktail are two terms that seem appropriate for the look we are going for. We aren't getting married on the actual beach, but we will be beach-adjacent, and the wedding will take place outdoors in the late afternoon, with the reception occurring after the sun is down. Tennis shoes and flip-flops are too casual; high heels are probably too dressy. No shorts, jeans, or t-shirts. For the men, jackets are optional, but ties are fancier than you need to be. Dress like you are going out to dinner on a cruise but aren't sitting at the captain's table. We've stolen a few pictures off the internet to give you a few ideas.

How do I pay for things in Costa Rica?

We've been advised that most places in Costa Rica will accept the American Dollar. Credit cards are also widely accepted. Please notify your credit card carrier(s) of your trip in advance to avoid disruption of services.

What's the scoop on booking excursions and activities?

Important note: For guests staying at Casa 9, please do not book any excursions or activities in Jaco without going through our concierge, Marcel. Our contract stipulates that we must book through Casa 9!

Remote/offsite guests, you can book through our concierge Marcel Ortega, but are NOT obligated because you are NOT staying at the host property.

All guests, if you have not signed up for activities, you will be able to do so for most upon arrival to Jaco, Costa Rica.
